Cube Nets & Turned Shapes

Which net folds into this cube? Which shape is just turned? Print a fresh sheet with its answer key, or try one on screen.

How to play

  1. A net is a flat pattern that folds into a cube. Faces next to each other on the net may end up opposite each other on the cube.
  2. On a cube, three faces meet at each corner. Faces that are opposite can never be seen together.
  3. For turned shapes, a flipped shape is a mirror image. Turning it on the table can never make it match.

What it exercises

Picturing shapes in your head and turning them around. You can check yourself by cutting out a net and folding it.

Levels

  • Easy The wrong nets put two of the faces you can see on opposite sides.
  • Medium A mix.
  • Hard The wrong nets are mirror images, so the order of the faces around the corner matters.
