Reusing Palaces

A palace can be reused once old images fade; competitors rotate several journeys so lists don't blur together.

If you put a new list on a route the same day as an old one, the old images may still be there. People call these leftovers ghosts.

  • For lists you want to keep for good (the presidents), give them their own route and leave it alone.
  • For practice and one-time lists, rotate several routes, and give each one a day or two to clear.
  • Make new images extra vivid so they outshine any ghost.

Key idea

Keep permanent lists on their own routes. Rotate practice routes.

Worked example: Worked example

You practice a deck every day with one route. Images from yesterday keep showing up. What helps?
  1. Use several routes in turn.
  2. Give each a rest before you use it again.

Answer: Rotate three or more routes.
