Steps
You’ll need: large bowl, 9 × 13-inch pan.
- Stir the yeast into the warm milk with the honey and sugar and let it stand 5 minutes.
- Beat in the eggs, butter and salt, then the flour. Knead 8 to 10 minutes; the dough stays soft.
- Cover and let it rise until doubled, about 1 to 1½ hours.
- Divide into 16 pieces (about 55 g each), round them into tight balls, and set them in rows in a greased 9 × 13 pan.
- Let rise until puffy and touching, 45 to 60 minutes. Heat the oven to 350°F.
- Bake 20 to 25 minutes, until golden (about 190°F). Brush with melted butter.
⚖️ ScalingEach roll is a sixteenth of the dough. Many recipes use pineapple juice for part of the milk; this one keeps to pantry staples.
🛡 SafetyDon’t taste raw dough or batter, and wash your hands and the counter after handling flour: raw flour can carry germs that only baking kills (FDA).
