Pre-KBig, Tall, Long, Heavy

Tall and Short

Compare heights from the same floor.

Not started Jump to practice

Some things are tall and some are short. To compare, stand them on the same floor. The one whose top is highest is the tallest.

Which tower is the tallest? Which is the shortest?

Key idea

Start on the same floor. The tallest one reaches the highest.
For the grown-up: Build block towers together and compare. Stand back to back with your child to see who is taller. Measure stuffed animals by standing them in a line. A few problems on the screen is plenty. The real practice is with things you can touch.
  • Try it at home: Build towers and compare them.
  • Line up stuffed animals from short to tall.
  • Mark your child’s height on a paper strip.
