Pre-KDays and Routines

Our Day in Order

Put the things we do in a day in order.

Not started Jump to practice

Every day has an order. We wake up, eat breakfast, eat lunch, eat dinner, and go to sleep. Some things always come first, like socks before shoes!

Wake up, eat breakfast, eat lunch.

Key idea

Some things happen before others, every day.
For the grown-up: Talk through your day: “First we get dressed, then we go out.” A simple picture chart of your family’s day helps children know what comes next. Short and happy beats long. Five minutes is a good lesson.
  • Try it at home: Make a picture chart of your day.
  • Ask: what do we do after breakfast?
  • Put on socks, then shoes, and say first and next.
