Things come in different sizes. An elephant is big. A mouse is small. Which ball is the biggest? Which is the smallest?

Which ball is the biggest? Which is the smallest?

Key idea

Big, bigger, biggest. Small, smaller, smallest.
For the grown-up: Line up three things of the same kind but different sizes: spoons, shoes or bowls. Ask which is biggest and smallest. Size words are math words. Short and happy beats long. Five minutes is a good lesson.
  • Try it at home: Line up family shoes from small to big.
  • Nest measuring cups or bowls.
  • Find a big leaf and a small leaf.
