What's in the book

Lesson 64 is drill 79, rows of figure 2.

The lesson, step by step

  1. Warm up

About three minutes: compact ovals, then a line each of small o, small m and small l (drills 3, 11, 14 and 33).

  2. Look at the model

Open the book page. Look at drill 79: rows of 2's. The book says a sideways oval motion helps form the 2.

  3. Rows of 2

Five lines, counting "one, two, three" or "dot, two, three" for each.

  4. Speed

As soon as fair progress has been made in making figure two, an effort should be made to bring the rate of speed to seventy-five a minute.

This is optional; try it once the shape is good.

  5. Gentle check

Does every 2 have a clear curve at the top and a flat base?

  6. Finish

    Write 22, 222 and 2,222.
