What's in the book

Lesson 34 reviews capital L and gives drill 36, the word "Lanning".

The lesson, step by step

  1. Warm up

About three minutes: compact ovals, then a line each of small o, small m and small l (drills 3, 11, 14 and 33).

Then a line of capital L from Lesson 33.

  2. Look at the model

Open the book page. Look at drill 36: "Lanning" four times on each line.

    Study, practice, and compare.

  3. Lines of Lanning

Begin small a at the top as in drill 30, and keep the final g short below the line. Four lines.

Optional speed target: ten to twelve words a minute.

  4. Watch for

Four words to a line, no more. The n's round on top.

  5. Gentle check

Your child picks the best word on the page and says why.

  6. Finish

Write "Lang" or another L name.
