What's in the book

Lesson 10 is one line: a general review of the lessons so far.

The lesson, step by step

  1. What the book says

Devote the time of this lesson to a general review of the preceding lessons.

  2. Position check

Ask your child to take the writing position and show you the arm drop, the light pencil hold and the tilted paper. Look at the Lesson 1 photographs together if anything has slipped.

  3. Movement

One line each of push-pulls, traced ovals and compact ovals. Each oval first in the air, then down.

  4. Capitals

Two lines of capital A in groups of five, then two lines of capital O.

  5. Gentle check

Lay today's page next to the first page of ovals. Ask your child what looks better now. Praise smoothness and lightness more than neatness.

  6. Finish

Write "Ann" or the child's name once with the new hold and the arm resting.

Afterwards

If anything felt hard today, spend another day on it before going on.
