What's in the book

The table: 12 inches make 1 foot; 3 feet make 1 yard; 5½ yards make 1 rod; 320 rods make 1 mile. Then problems about desks, sidewalks, cloth, bricks and stairs.

The lesson, step by step

  1. Measure the room

Measure a table, a door and your child's height in inches, then in feet.

  2. The table

Read it. The rod is old; the rest are still used. A mile is 5,280 feet.

  3. Book problems

    Work through the page.

Afterwards

Pace out a yard, then a room, then a walk.
