What's in the book

Twelve mixed problems, such as "George bought 2 peaches, at 3 cents each, and 2 oranges, at 5 cents each: how many cents did he pay for all?" and "If a man can travel 90 miles in 9 hours, how many miles can he travel in 1 hour?"

The lesson, step by step

  1. Plan before solving

For each problem, ask: What do we know? What are we finding? What do we do first?

  2. Work through the page

Spread the problems over two days if needed.

Afterwards

Ask your child to write one story problem of their own for you to solve.
