Fifteen problems such as "I had 15 cents, and Charles gave me 5 more: how many cents had I then?" and "Edwin has 8 oranges more than Anna, and Anna has 19: how many has Edwin?"

The lesson, step by step

  1. "More than" stories

    Edwin has 8 more than Anna. Act it out: line up Anna's 19, then make Edwin's line 8 longer.

  2. Work through the page

    Your child answers each problem in a full sentence.

Afterwards

Make up two stories with family ages or prices.
