The lesson, step by step
Review
Quick-fire: amābit? monēbam? amant?
regō
The third conjugation's stem ends in a short e that changes:
regō, regis, regit, regimus, regitis, regunt
It joins the -ō, becomes u before -nt, and i elsewhere.
audiō
The fourth conjugation adds the endings to audī-:
audiō, audīs, audit, audīmus, audītis, audiunt
Note the u slipped in before -nt.
New verbs
Section 148 lists verbs that go like regō and audiō: agō (drive), dīcō (say), dūcō (lead), mittō (send), mūniō (fortify), reperiō (find), veniō (come). Say each with its infinitive.
Exercises
Section 149, Exercise I. Two of the lines:
Quis agit? Cūr venit? Quem mittit? Quem dūcis?
Mūnīmus, venītis, dīcit.
Then Exercise II.
Finish the story
Read "Cornelia and her Jewels (Concluded)" in section 150. The book says the only new words are Campāna, semper and tū. Ask your child what Cornelia meant by her famous answer.
Wrap up
Your child conjugates mittō and veniō aloud.
