Fifteen minutes a day, wherever you read

Take the readings with you

Every one of the 366 daily readings can go to your e-reader as an EPUB (Kindle, Kobo, Nook, Apple Books, Google Play Books), or be saved as a PDF to read on a tablet or print. Make your own book below in a few seconds: one day, a week, a stretch of dates, a month or the whole year, or every reading by one author or from one book.

Getting a book onto your reader

Kindle

Amazon’s Send to Kindle takes EPUB files and turns them into Kindle books, cover and contents included. They arrive on every Kindle and Kindle app on your account, and your place is kept across them.

  • On a computer: install the free Send to Kindle app for Windows or Mac, then drag the EPUB onto it (or right-click the file and choose Send to Kindle) and press Send.
  • In a web browser: go to amazon.com/sendtokindle, sign in, drop the file on the page and press Send.
  • By email: attach the EPUB to an email to your Kindle’s Send to Kindle address. You’ll find the address in the Kindle’s settings or the Kindle app, and on Amazon’s website under Preferences, Personal Document Settings, where you also approve the address you send from.
  • On a phone: open the downloaded file, tap Share, and choose Kindle.

Send the EPUB rather than the PDF: a PDF keeps its fixed pages, which are small on a Kindle screen.

Kobo

  • Plug the Kobo into your computer with its USB cable, tap Connect on the Kobo, and copy the EPUB onto it like any file. Eject it, and the book shows up in My Books.
  • Newer Kobos can also pick up books from Dropbox or Google Drive: put the EPUB in the folder Kobo made there, then open Dropbox or Google Drive from the Kobo’s More menu.

Nook and others

Most other e-readers (Nook, PocketBook, Boox, Tolino) take EPUB files the same way: connect by USB and copy the file to the reader’s main folder or its Books folder.

Apple Books

  • iPhone and iPad: open the downloaded EPUB (in Safari’s downloads or the Files app), tap Share, and choose Books.
  • Mac: double-click the EPUB, or drag it into the Books app. It syncs to your iPhone and iPad when iCloud is on for Books.

Google Play Books

On a computer, open play.google.com/books, choose Upload files, and pick the EPUB or PDF. In the Play Books app on Android, choose Upload PDF or EPUB from the menu in your library. The book is then on all your devices.

Calibre

If you keep your books in Calibre, add the EPUB with Add books. Calibre can send it to almost any e-reader over USB, and convert it if your reader wants another format.

A PDF on a tablet

The 6 × 9 inch PDF is the one to read on a tablet: the type is a comfortable size without zooming. Open it in Books, Files or any PDF app; the table of contents and the bookmarks jump to each day.

Plain text

The .txt file opens on any phone, computer or reader, with no formatting at all.
